Union artillery battery.
Me and my friend Sean went out today to watch the annual Civil War
reenactment held by the Washington Civil War Association (WCWA) out at
Riverside Park. This year the reenactment was of the Battle of New
Market. The WCWA lets the North win one year and the South the next.
This year was the South's turn to win the field of battle — as they did
in the original battle on May 15, 1864.
You can catch more photos of the event at Sean's blog.
Coming back in we passed a couple of the local cemeteries. It is always
tougher observing Memorial Day here in the U.S. knowing your country is
CSA Cavalry skirmishers.
My friend Sean.
The Union line is turned by a cavalry charge.
