As if we really needed anything else blowing up
this summer, here's more of it.
Well according to my figuring the United States is
now 231 years old going by the Declaration of
Independence. Which is pretty young for a country,
really. In Europe, both France and Denmark are far
older. We're like young kids by comparison.
Be that as it may, I love my country — and my wish
for this 4th of July is that we can come to our senses
and get some things figured out. And maybe, quite possibly,
begin to do some healing over the next year or so.
We've got the Declaration and we've got the Constitution.
And it's our job as citizens to look to those documents
with the same devotion as they did back then, when they
risked everything to try to start this country.
