It seems that Wikipedia has a list of national birds,
which I ran into pretty much by accident.

The list doesn't seem quite complete — Uzbekistan is
missing, for example. Other countries, such as Ireland,
Russia, and China, don't seem to have settled on a national
bird yet. Egypt doesn't have a national bird yet, either;
which given their history you think would be a no-brainer
— either the falcon/hawk (Ra/Horus), or the ibis
(Thoth). And a few of the ones listed below (Australia,
Romania) are "unofficial" or "proposed."

Anyway. Here are a few countries and their birds.

Australia — Emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae)

Austria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Mexico
— Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)

Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador
— Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus)

Denmark — Mute Swan (Cygnus olor)

El Salvador, Nicaragua
— Turquoise-browed Motmot (Eumomota superciliosa)

I've always liked colorful little birds like
hummingbirds, so I think this might be my

Guatemala — Resplendent Quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno)

Another magnificant looking bird.

India — Blue Indian Peacock male (Pavo cristatus)

Israel — Hoopoe (Upupa epops major)

Romania — White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus)

Singapore — Crimson Sunbird (Aethopyga siparaja)

Another small beauty.

Trinidad — Scarlet Ibis (Eudocimus ruber)

United Kingdom — European Robin (Erithacus rubecula)

If there is a bird you particularly like, please
feel free to leave a photo in the Comments.
