It's been a while since I've done a Strange Dolls post.
In fact the last post was right around this time last
year. If nothing else it seems that these days the new
Spring line of Barbies always gives me a reason.
The big news this year is that Barbie comes with a set
of tattoos that you can put on her skin. The tattoos are
washable, so if a girl wants to change them she can.
Here's one tattoo on Barbie's stomach. She also has
one on her butt that I can't show. But what saddened
me far beyond the hopeless devotion to Ken was the
fact that Barbie seems to have burned the words
MATTEL INDONESIA onto her abdomen with a cigarette.
The woman really should be in a hospital.
As for Skipper, she's now 4 months pregnant.

My granddaughter loves barbies. I sincerely hope her parents draw the line on this one.How completely sad, and what an indictment on our society.I never liked these dolls as a kid. I think I would put up with Fairuza's tattoos. 😆 But I really like nice skin, and to me tats mess it all up.
Martin I think Barbie has severe mental problems and is more of less imagining a relationship with Ken at this point. She's even beginning to imagine that he once had a penis.
She's just a girl with bad luck. Same thing happened when she started dating G. I Joe. When she finally persuaded him to take off his navy blues, she found… Well, she didn't find what she expected. Tough luck for a girl who just wants some fun.
In Danish we call that lower back tatoo 'røvgevir' which translates ruffly to 'ass-antlers'. I heard Barbie and Ken got divorced, but perhaps they got back together again since she got an ink with his name.

Thanks for clearing that up, Anon. The photo does show it on the back I think. Actually though the tattoos can evidently be applied anywhere. :up:I always wanted a tiny ladybug tattoo put in the area between my thumb and first finger. :p
