I watched a couple episodes of Bewitched yesterday.
It had been a good while since I had seen it. And it
occurred to me what witchy eyes Agnes Moorehead had.
She was perfectly cast as "Endora," definitely.
And it wasn't just the makeup.

She looks like she could truly be a witch, Edward, and she did play a good part.

I think that show would have been pretty boring without her, Linda.

I was never a big fan. Rarely watched it. I thought it was silly.

I loved the rivalry between the characters of Endora and Durwood. Uh, Darwin. Uh, what was his name?Darrin! That's it!

hahaha she will appear out of nowhere and mess up the whole thing, but as Eddie said, that show was lucky to have her! I love the retro picture!

@ Star:lol: oh that Durwood! LMAO. I wonder if someone has ever counted how many times she got his name wrong during the course of that show. @ AngelikiI just don't know how a family of respectable witches could end up marrying into a human family like that. It's just downright embarassing. :p

Darko: Exactly!Ed: I used to watch that show all the time and think of myself as Genie. Yeah, I probably would have run around in one of those costumes too. 😆 Did she have a name other than Genie? I've forgotten. Agnes was perfect as the mother. Love that retro picture of her too. Sadly, I can't remember anything else she was in. She was quite beautiful and VERY confident looking.

@ Darko.Ha!@ Pam.Barbara Eden's name in the show was Jeannie. Gee, how original. :p You know a long time ago I did a post where I claimed that Major Nelson was gay — otherwise any straight guy would have been all over that. (They did get married eventually, but I think that was to keep up appearances for NASA. 🙂 )There aren't very many of the old TV actors and actresses that I know anything about other than what they did on television. Edie Adams, for example, I only know from a single one-minute cigar commercial.

Well here's something of the original with Endora.

And while I'm at it, this is for Agnes (1900-1974) :rip:
