Take a look at the goldfish in the above photo. To the casual observer
they may appear healthy, even happy. But in fact these fish are
suffering from a terrible neurosis — Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,
otherwise known as OCD.
Suffering from the effects of OCD these fish do little but swim all day
long. Back and forth, back and forth. It is sad to see it.
And yet there is hope. Modern veterinary medicine can relieve their
suffering. These fish, put on a program of Fish Prozac and the
occasional tap on the side of the tank, can soon lead productive lives
again.
So if your fish or those of someone you know exhibit the signs of OCD,
don't wait. Seek professional help.*
Your fish will thank you for it. Well, kinda.
___________
*Contact your veterinarian if your fish experience stomach upset,
tiredness, anxiety, restlessness, panting, irritability, jaundice,
vomiting, or an unusual lack of appetite while being treated with
Fish Prozac. If your fish is full of eggs or may become full of eggs,
notify your veterinarian. In certain cases suicidal symptoms have
been observed in some fish taking Fish Prozac and they may attempt
to jump out of their tank.
they look perfectly happy to me. maybe you are reading something into it. ๐
Probably a lot of swimming. But a happier swimming maybe. ๐
NOTE: Just to be clear, I'm not making fun of psychological disorders or med therapy. I was on Prozac myself for a while back in the 90s. And I think I spent half the 80s on Xanax. It has worked for millions.
I don't know. You know how ads are. ๐
๐ But just what will their productive lives be like? Makes you wonder! ๐

:lol:Something like that. ๐
Often my brain seems to be swimming in all directions. The proof is the 10 or more projects I'm working on in between the every day things like keeping up the front and back yards, the dishes and laundry. I DO finish things….eventually. I'd be afraid to see what would happen if I were on anything like Prozac.
While you engage in fish therapy, I'll be in the bongservatory playing the gwendolyn.
@ Pam.I suck at multitasking. Can only do one thing at a time. Kinda drives my mom crazy. For me to go out of the door of my apartment involves a checklist and total concentration. And if I get interrupted, I usually forget something. But it's pretty much like that with everything. Prozac would probably give you more focus actually, though I'm not sure.@ Martin. The Gwendolyn? Is that Gwyneth Paltrow? :p

Ah ha! THANK YOU for the valentine for Sasha! s from both of us. ๐ I will leave the Fish Fitness program to you. Maybe you could make a video???
for Sasha:
The FFDA (Federal Fish & Drug Administration) now requires that label warnings for Fish Prozac include that use of said Prozac may induce violence. Fish may attempt to hurl divers, rocks and castles against and/or through the glass walls of their confinements, causing mass destruction. There have also been reports of attempted homocide, domestic disturbance, and mass shootings by fish under the influence of said Prozac. Extreme caution and continued confinement and observance of any fish being treated by said Prozac should continue for a period of not less than two weeks when first beginning treatment with said Prozac. After that, aerial spraying/tank infiltration is recommended in the event that no such episodic violence occur.Thankyouverymuch.:D
Happy Valentine's Day to both of you, too, Edward!
๐ ๐ ๐ :lol:Thanks for the disclaimer. Mine must have been out of date."Tank infiltration" ???? :p:heart: s from Sasha and me for Valentine's Day!
๐ all in all we are all just another fish in the bowl
@ Dirk. Wasn't that a line from a Pink Floyd song? I'm pretty sure that it was. :p :p :p:D
… the fish in a Pink Floyd song? yes, it's in "Wish You Were Here" but I mixed it with "The Wall … originally it's "all in all we're just another brick in the wall"… in "Wish You Were Here" it's like:"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,Running over the same old ground. What have you found? The same old fears."it always crosses my mind when I see or read about fish ๐
Hell, I was just joking — didn't know there were actually fish in it!:lol:
๐ there's no coincident in life ๐
So they say! ๐
What does fish is?
