:awww: You should bought them….
If I'd had the money, I'd have bought them all and donated them to an orphanage.
Stuff them with explosive pyrotechnic devices and leave them at airports and train stations. Then go have a beer.
@ Darko @ PamThat was my first thought too…@ Martin…and that was pretty much my last thought. ROTF. I suppose that with all that's happened in the world recently, like the West Virginia mine disaster, that I shouldn't get too sad about a bunch of plush toy rabbits. But still…
@ Star. :yes:They could be friends with all my other animal toys. :pPS. Just got my new television. Unfortunatley can't see it all that good due to contact problems. More on the new TV later.
It is sad. I wish I could do the same thing that Pam wished to do.Those bunnies need hugs.:awww:
awwwwwwwwwww and when I thought bunnies are taking over the world!!! only some bunnies are the lucky ones!http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad179/MISSDIVA_07/bugs_bunny_1.jpg

corporate thinking? :sherlock: … basic Capitalism :pirate: from my point of view π
Recently I have engaged in a local project dealing with small-scale people to people recycling. Basically we run this yard in our neighborhood where people can come with stuff they want to dispose of, which is really still working and in good shape: bicycles, furniture, televisions, etc. We fix it if it needs fixing and people can come if they need new stuff and see if there might be something of interest to them. In the start people didn't understand. There's no money in it, you see. We don't charge you to get rid of your old stuff and if you want some of the refurbished things, it's yours for free. We do it, because it's fun, and because we like the idea. The project is in fact growing into an organisation now. The other day some girls came along and asked if they could form a branch with surplus clothes. There is no limits as to what people dispose of these days. When I was a kid we would use things till they fell apart. Some of the things we get in the yard doesn't even need fixing, some of it just needs a good cleaning with water and soap. It makes me wonder.
I hope those bunnies get given to needy children or orphans as Ed suggested. I know what these retail people do all too often. Things that do not sell in the store sometimes are sent to consignment stores, and if not sold there, they go in the trash. For shame. Corporate thinking seems to be "If I can't make money off 'em, nobody is going to get any good out of em."
My church branch does that, Martin. We have a day or two once or twice a year when everybody brings their "stuff" to the meetinghouse parking lot and we swap stuff. It's just things we no longer want or need that still work and are in good shape, like you said. No one buys or sells. Everything is just set out in the parking lot and one can take what he or she wants. Anything left at the end of the day is loaded into pickup trucks and donated to "The Beehive", a local thrift store that is owned and operated by Group Living, a non-profit organization that provides jobs, education, instruction in life skills, and other types of practical help for developmentally-disabled adults in our community. It's something we've been doing for years. Makes a lot more sense than just throwing stuff out.

:(sad to say the least!when my kids were younger and had more than they needed,we used to fill the pediatricians waiting area with stuffed animals for the sick kids to take with them… Always made my kids happy. They still do donate all their non used clothes to charity. I hope poor kids got them at the end! π
All good projects. You know before my mom moved in with me she lived in this large apartment building. They had a table in the side-room of the lobby called the "give-away" table. People would put all sorts of stuff out — clothes, pots and pans, appliances, even furniture. And whoever wanted could just take the stuff. Well then some old Russian ladies moved in. And they began taking anything that was put on the table. Or I guess I should say anything and everything. That's what decades of scarcity in places like the former Soviet Union could do. In most places in the west we work with such an incredible surplus. Which only contributes to the whole Disposable Society paradigm. You know I'm not an optimist, but it's good to know that at least some people are learning to make use of all we have. :yes:Thanks you all for your comments. Which I think have made this an interesting post. PS. A pair of old socks make good dust rags, and are great for polishing furniture. Ed's Helpful Hint of the day. :p
Some of my old socks would be usefull in chemical or biological warfare. That would be a reverse army surplus deal, wouldn't it?
:lol:You might stick them in the bio-hazard bin?

The robe does cover the baboon butt though. That part wasn't sewable.

I did go with a rather rubenesque blonde once. She was very nice. An Aries — I got along with her very well.
I remember Haysbert from 24 and The Unit. He's got "the voice" — like James Earl Jones had, but a tad different. No skinny guys? π₯ I guess I'd better get more of those nasal steroids going! :pSpeaking of which, have you kicked that sinus thing yet. (hope hope).
