The other day I was telling someone that I really liked watching the old
movies from the 80s, and seeing the actresses with the 80s style
hairstyles.
Well this morning I ran across the above photo of Nicole Kidman — yes,
the Nicole Kidman — having what could only be considered a bad hair day
even by 80s standards. Evidently the photo was taken when she was just
starting her acting career in Australia with movies such as BMX Bandits
(1983). She was about 16 at that point.
I like this Nicole from the past. She looks rougher, earthier, somehow
"more Australian" if I may use that term.
You know the early definition of hoitie toitie meant a frivolous or ram-
bunctious person. But as the phrase evolved it came instead to mean a
snobby or snotty individual. I think that with Nicole one definition has
morphed into the other over the course of the decades. Current vs. earlier
model, I'll take the earlier.
I mean, you gotta admit, wouldn't it be fantastic seeing today's Nicole
pop a wheelie on a BMX?
Angelo D'Angelo, James Lugton, and Nicole Kidman
in BMX Bandits.
You know she could get that hair caught in something if she doesn't watch out! Like, telephone wires! :lol:She's made some good movies. One's that are certainly better than BMX Bandits. :p But maybe you are right — money and fame aren't everything.
Gosh! that is bad!!!!!!!!! :lol:the 80s had big hair and awful clothes! :lol:Nicole looks warm and happy there…money not always bring happiness, right?
I would probably wear it over my face. :p
😆
That hairstyle is beginning to make a comeback. Lots of supermodels have been wearing the super-culy locks, although they wear them quite a bit shorter.I got one of those curly perms when my kid was two years old (1983), about the same length as hers. My son had decided that my straight, waist-length hair made great "reins" when I was bouncing him up and down on my knees. I didn't agree. Time for a haircut. :lol:After he was too big to bounce on my knees, I let it grow back out. Straight, long hair again. And still. And I'm thinkin' it might be time for another haircut.:D
That hair is a little alarming, I must say! :)John, I think if Ed loaned out his fedora for that shot he would either never wear it again or he would never take it off. 😀
I'm not sure if I can even link from a comment like this but if it works… I'd like to see her "pop a wheelie" looking like this- http://www.famous-people-search.com/nicole_kidman/nicole_kidman_pictures/nicole_kidman_003.jpgI think she would even look great wearing Eddie's hat like this- http://www.popstarsplus.com/images/NicoleKidmanPicture.jpgWhat do you think Eddie, would you loan out your fedora for just one shoot?
@ John. I agree about the outfit and the wheelie. And the fedora. 😀@ Richard. Never take it off would be the choice. 😆
you should see her in "archer", an australian film. i think her hair is naturally very curly.my favorite nicole kidman is "billy bathgate". when she jumps in the water at ye ole swimmin' hole, it's a freeze frame moment. 💡
@ Star. I liked the perms. A little more difficult to run your fingers through than the feathered style — but I liked it. Well you better get that hair of yours cut to a pixie cut with that little tough guy of yours! :D@ Scott. Never saw those movies, so thanks for bringing them to my attention. I'm surprised I haven't run into any screen shots of that Artrhur one. :(My favorite Kidman hair is Far And Away. OMG!
@ John. LMAO. I agree!
right "archer" as in bow and arrow user. netflix might have it. if you subscribe to netflix. a lovely gem of a movie and she is so fresh.just checked. they don't have archer.oops it's "archer's adventure" whole title.http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1802837272/info
Oh wow that sounds cool. TYVM.
Good price! 😀
i just bought the vhs from amazon for .97 . i want to see it again. i am so surprised they haven't made a dvd yet.
You could try a motorcycle helmet. :p
No more pixie cuts, Edward. But if he grabs my hair like his daddy did, you can bet it'll be cut the next day.:heart:
😆
I'll leave you guys to drool over Nicole. I never have liked her, I think she's a bitchy snot and I do not watch her movies.
I hope to wear mine something like this. It's just about this color now. Don't like much having it that long. My hair grows fast. It's so many lengths, though, that I'll have to get it long enough to cut it all one length.
Get a long bob Star. I'm trying to let my hair grow long enough to wear in a bob. I think the asymmetrical bobs look sexy and great. What color is your hair? Doesn't matter, bet it would look good in a bob. Mine will be a short bob but your's could look like this. I think this is beautiful and way sexy.
My haircolor is close to the second photo without the red highlights. But it depends on the light, to a great degree. It lightens a bit in the summer if I'm out in the sun a lot. It's kind of dark blond around my face and darkens to a light to medium brown. Kinda weird. And I've never dyed/colored it. My mom dyed it black when I was four, at a time when my hair was naturally white. Not blond. White. It turned out blue-ish gray. I looked like an 80-year-old midget running around the neighborhood. Made my grandmother furious.I was an odd-lookin' kid. Even odder-lookin' adult.
OMG. What was your mother's idea? Can't believe any mom would dye their toddler's hair! I can't speak to that comment about being odd looking, because I've never seen a picture of you. However, I doubt very seriously that I would find you odd looking. My hair now is just about that color. Just a little more red.
I guess that second image was copyrighted because it was removed, which is OK. Don't want to break the law.
My mother's hair was jet-black, Linda. Not one of her four kids ended up with black hair. I also have blue eyes, and she thought it would be kinda cool to have a black-haired, blue-eyed kid–kinda like Liz Taylor, I guess. 😆
They look as if someone put their heads on some kid`s bodies 😆 😆
Well thanks to today's marvelous CGI technology, it's now possible to replace heads. :p
