My mom got me this great birthday card. She wanted
me to open it before I go into the hospital. You
know in college not too long ago I used to call
myself "old turtle" because I couldn't walk around
campus as fast at the young "hares." So this card
is perfect, even though it's actually a get-well
card.
On the inside it reads (italics being handwritten)
To Eddie and Daddy
It's not the speed that matters.
It's the getting there.
& Happy Birthday
Hope you feel better soon.
from Mom and Sasha!

Well tomorrow I will be going in to have another
round of the stent-valve thing done. I should
probably be coming home late Wednesday. And I
will do a post and let everybody know about things
as soon as I can.
So then, I guess I'll see ya on the other side.
Uh, maybe I should rephrase that…
:p

Happy Birthday Ed!!! :cheers:It is a nice postcard and even nicer words. They made me remember a sentence Ursula Le Guin wrote in her book Left Hand of Darkness:"Compare the torrent and the glacier. Both get where they are going."Get well soon

@ Mags.Thank you. You know Sacred Heart Hospital is a Catholic hospital. So Wednesday morning a priest stops by my room to visit me and asks me if I want to take communion. So I tell him, well, we'd better do confession first seeing as I haven't made my Easter Duty in about 20 years. 😆 So I suggested that we say the Confiteor, thinking that there really wasn't all that much in it that a Deist would object to anyway, and seeing that I am definitely not a perfect person. So we did and he gave me absolution. 😀

😆 And, spiritually, you feel like a million bucks, don't ya! Don't lie now, I can tell by that big grin on your face  I'm so happy for you!

Thank you Jesus! So happy you came through with, apparently, colors flying Edward. I haven't been on in a couple days either, so I had to fire up the pc to see how you were doing. Prayers will continue for your good recovery. Yay!

 that's what I'm feeling. Glad to just GET IT OVER WITH as much as anything else. You know Garabedian didn't mention anything about any future surgeries. Which I guess is both good and bad. Bad in that there isn't anything more they can do for me at this point. But good in that I don't have to worry about any more surgeries for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your wishes and your prayers.
