An article from the Spokane Spokesman-Review. December 1, 1938.
Rachmaninoff's recital would have been the day before that,
November 30.
I was thinking that this might be the reason the great Valentina
Lisitsa came here several years ago, and is about to visit us again
— she so idolizes Rachmaninoff.
Of course I'm sure that Rachmaninoff played lots of venues. So I'm
going to stick with my theory that Valentina is coming here to play
for me personally.
😛
My great thanks to Jim Kershner of the Spokesman-Review for
providing the information and the link to their archives.
