My violin case is in love with Hilary Hahn's violin case.
I can tell because he reads Case's tweets on Twitter over
my shoulder and then seems very forlorn.
I think he is a bit intimidated by the fact that Case is a
jet-setter who travels all over the world. Whereas my case
is afraid to go out of the house. So I've been taking him
places in the hope that it might give him more confidence.
He's also a little self-conscious because he only has one
eye. But I tell him that even though he is plain on the
outside, that he is beautiful on the inside.

Travelling light, I see.Then again, I am a drummer. I have to move hardware equivalent to a fully furnished two bedroom apartment every time I have to take my instrument from one position to another. The sticks? Well, I just bring them in my pocket. They have to be kept secure or they will get into all kinds of trouble, and my pocket is the safest place in the World for any thing to be. It also looks cool when I enter a room with drum sticks discretely but casually sticking up from my back pocket. Girls dig it.Not that you violin case isn't cool. He looks good in red.

Well in your case then it's like you have a whole family to lead around with you. And of course you would have to make sure they are all correctly dressed before you load them into the vehicle. I imagine that it's pretty hard finding a wardrobe that fits for those skinny sticks.

thank you very much, Ed! I will! it's nice to hear him practice nearly daily. making progress… and nice tone for a beginner! I like that he doesn't fuss about practice, just does it. seems to enjoy.

Yes! He wants to play, but we gave him cello lessons first (the arm, since lessons cost an arm and a leg.) He has the drum set, too. Can you direct me to some good YouTube lessons? That's how he started cello. He took group lessons on drums, but other kids were progressed beyond beginner and he didn't feel comfortable with that. And at the time he didn't have anything but drumsticks and our couch to practice on… (The lessons were free of charge so I thought great idea. Joe was in and out of a few jobs at the time. In other words we had to wait.)
