I can hear it often on a radio station I listen every day

Radio? Is that one of those ancient devices with the knobs and the dial and catapult on it?

I like Bill Withers.
edwardpiercy said:
@ bugscoutYeah, I listened to that one. I like Sting a lot. That version might be a little too jazzy for my taste. Thanks for the link and contributing.

It is, Ed. Just without catapult 😛

Maybe President Obama could talk him back to play at their "command performance" type of things at the White House. (Command Performance. That's a British term. Boy, remember the good old days when the King could command you to come and play for him. 😆 )

:sherlock: as far as I know he did his last recording in 1985 and then refused to perform or record anything new … that's a great loss … but I got some respect for this decision …

😆 .. I think nowadays some Kings or Queens just would get to see the middle finger as an answer … 😆

Dirk I checked it out. Thanks for the link.I think that somewhere I heard that Withers became an ex-patriot and quit performing. 😦
edwardpiercy said:
😆 I think some probably would. Still, I'm sure the now Sir Paul McCartney and now Sir Elton John wouldn't mind doing "their bit" for the old Queen. :p 😆

I love Bill Withers' sound. He has such an honest voice. No fancy stuff, just a simple, soulful sound. Thanks for posting this one, Edward.

You welcome Star. From an interview I saw him give shown on youTube, I'd say he seemed like an honest guy all the way around.

Great old song Ed. Hadn't heard it in ages. It used to make me sad and cry but not anymore.
edwardpiercy said:
Same here. I was thinking back to those days, early 70s, and I think I associated it with one girl in particular. But that was soon over. My love for the song remains.
thetomster said:
:right: there are a lot of "old songs" related to special people … it's kind of funny but these songs I remember better than faces or names :left:

Yep. Often seems to be that way Dirk.
